July 2010 News

Ok, so I've been really bad about keeping this page up-to-date!

We have some new additions to our farm, and sold a couple as well. Fortune Awaits is now happily living in Maryland with Carmen Torres...Allie has been sold To Kathleen Johnson and will now pursue a Dressage career! Congrats to both!

We were very fortunate to be able to purchase Whichita and her 2010 colt, Ghoodfella. Whichita is Ghulliver and Ghalleons' dam, and Fella is their full brother. Very excited to watch him grow up! Chita will be bred to Aloha soon.

Other additions are Too Gun Olena (aka Honey) who is my Reining prospect...a very pretty palomino filly!

We also welcomed Wallingford this month, a super nice 2007 Oldenburg gelding by Wolkenglanz. He is big, handsome, and has fabulous gaits!

Of course the best news is that Peabody's first foals have been born! Amy Glass's mare Ria d'Or gave birth to a leggy, handsome black colt. Then our Fiona had a very pretty, refined dark bay (going gray) filly. We can't wait to see how they move and develop! You can see them on Peabody's page HERE

November 2009 News

Where does the time go? Already winter is fast approaching!

Gemma and Lumanji are settling into their new homes in PA. Lumanji will be bred to the palomino TB stallion Canadian Kid...that should bring some color to the table!

After a successful summer of showing 1st Level Dressage with Brittany Croll, Ulita is now with at Windchase Farm with Taylor Simmons...a working student of Olympic Event rider Phyllis Dawson. They already placed 2nd at their first Novice Level event. Exciting!

Bianchetta and Fire and Ice both did well at the Oldenburg/ISR inspection at Chestnut Lawn...easily making it into the Main Studbook. We anxiously await their foals by Peabody!

September 2009 News

Wow it has been a busy summer here at Half Pass Farm! The biggest news, of course, is that Peabody is now licensed Oldenburg/ISR. Very exciting! He was such a good boy all weekend at the Hilltop Farm inspection...everyone that handled him, loved him!

Fiona was fabulous at Dressage at Foxcroft, earning first and second places in her Second Level tests. Brittany and Ulita also put in two solid tests...Ulita scored an "8" on her!

Rhiannon HPF and Giada HPF did very well at the Hilton farm Hanoverian inspection...both received excellent remarks on conformation and movement.

At the Lexington PAS Sale in July, Ghunslinger and Ronnie (Special Affect) found wonderful new homes. We wish them well!

May 2009 News

...and then there were three! Not to be outdone, Lumanji (by Franat) gave birth to this handsome colt on May 1st! He is by the Holsteiner stallion, Ariadus. He should be able to jump the moon as well as have fantastic movement. We call him AJ (his show name will be Agent X).

In other news this month, we sent Ghalleon to Tampa Florida to his new home with Ashley Clayton. There they will pursue a career in Jumpers. Good luck to this great match!

We also sent Dhamon to his new home with Melissa Birkan. Together they are training to compete in the FEI Young horse tests next year. Another exciting pair to watch for!

Welcome Ulita...a stunning 8 year old KWPN mare by Leoliet. She will hopefully be my next Dressage Superstar! Schooling 2nd level with single changes in place I think she will be ready to show by seasons end.

We also welcome Fortune Awaits (Zoom) a lovely 10 year old Hanoverian mare by For Sure. This mare is wonderful to ride and will make up quickly into an FEI horse. Afterwards she will make a great cross with Peabody...

April 2009 News

Number two on April 26th! Wow look at all that bling...from my wonderful (but plain bay) mare Allie (Al Capone/Matcho). This tall filly is by Gold Luck. We liked the cross so much that we have already bred Allie back to him! We have named this filly Giada.

The first foal arrives! Fiona gave birth to a beautiful filly by Rascalino on the night of April 16. She is chestnut with two hind socks and stripe but will likely gray out. We are so excited to see how she develops! Her name is Rhiannon.

January 2009 News

Happy New Year! 2009 promises to be an exciting year at Half Pass farm...we are expecting 5 foals this year, and have many nice riding horses available for sale as well as lessons.

Congratulations to Renee Bambach on her purchase of Whimsical HPF. Whimsy is going to have a career in Breed Shows, and then on to the Hunters! We are very excited to see what the future holds for them.

Welcome Gedicht (Gidget around the barn). She is a beautiful 2003 Hanoverian mare by Grafenburg out of a Dominator mare. Gidget will be presented to AHS this summer for approval, and schooled in Dressage, of course. She is what I call a "ladies horse"...smaller in size (15.2 hands) as well as being super comfortable and quiet to ride! A nice addition to our program.

December 2008 News

Congratulations to Cindy Herman on the purchase of Rappahannock HPF. We will miss her but are assured she has a wonderful new home.

We welcome Lumanji...a 1996 Holsteiner mare in foal to Ariadus for a May 2009 foal. This big loveable girl was shown in jumpers (up to 4') and also in Dressage. We are getting her back under saddle and in shape. She is quiet and easy to ride so far!

November 2008 News

Sadly I have to report that we lost Ghulliver's Travels in September...he sustained an injury to his neck and was not going to make a recovery. Sincere condolences to Bob.  We miss him terribly!

Peabody made his debut at Loch Moy Dressage in September...what a star! He was 3rd in Training Level Test 2, and 2nd in Training Level Test 4 with scores in the 60's!

Ghalleon, not to be outdone, was also super at the Nicole Uphoff Clinic at Tenacity Stables on November 16th. Nicole was especially impressed with his canter. Several auditors were wowed by him...always nice!

Ronnie is happily back to work after sustaining an injury in March...I look forward to campaigning him next year at 4th Level and Prix St. Georges.

July 2008 News

Whimsical HPF (by Widmark and out of MS Allie) was Champion Hanoverian foal at the Hilton Farm Inspection...Dr. Ludwig Christmann of the Hanoverian Verband gave her high remarks for conformation and movement, and congratulated us on such a nice foal. See her new pictures on the Sales Page!

Rafiki is back in foal to Regazzoni for a July 2009...obviously a super nice cross!

Avaria is in foal to Peabody for a July 2009 foal....I can't wait to see this one! should have incredible rideability built in!

June 2008 News

We have some sad news to report this month...Avaria lost her 2008 colt. He was a pretty bay with white, but was born very sick and Morven Hospital was not able to save him. RIP sweet boy.

Some happier news! Fiona is confirmed in foal to Rascalino for April 2009.

Allie is confirmed in foal to Gold Luck for a May 2009 foal.

We have moved half of the horses over to Union Ridge Equestrian Center. The mares and foals (plus Ronnie and Ghalleon) are enjoying their nice 10 acre field over there. This also gives people closer in to DC a chance to take lessons on one of our wonderful 4th Level Schoolmasters!

April 2008 News

Dual's Cookie Cutter has a new home with Tina Taylor...where she will hopefully become a cutting horse star!

Rafiki gave birth on April 21st to a beautiful solid black filly....see her on the Sales Page

Allie has been bred for a 2009 foal to the lovely Hanoverian stallion, Gold Luck

Fiona is being bred to Rascalino, a stunning Hanoverian stallion who stands in Germany for 2009.

Rafiki will be bred back to Regazzoni, a cross that seems to be a winner every time!

We are still anxiously awaiting Avarias' foal, due June 26th.

March 2008 News

Domina, Aries, and Cinnamon are off to their new homes...we were sad to see them go!

However, we have a couple new additions to the Half Pass family:

Allie is a 1999 Main Studbook Hanoverian mare by Al Capone, and out of a Matcho mare. She was imported from Germany by Meg Williams, and she has has 4 gorgeous foals! Her latest, Whimsical (by Widmark) is a stunning filly born March 11th, and can be seen on the Sales Page.

Fiona is a 1994 Main Studbook Hanoverian mare by Wummestern, out of a Pik Bube I mare. She is a lovely riding horse, schooling 4th Level Dressage. She has powerful, floaty gaits and gorgeous flying changes. Now if I can just get her on a trailer again, I think she will be very competitive!

November 2007 News

We welcome Premium Oldenburg mare, Rafiki. She arrived on November 30th from Oldenburg Farm and is a welcome addition! Congratulations to Bob Askew on his new purchase! She is in foal to Regazzoni and we can hardly wait until she foals late April 2008.

Welcome Ghalleon! He arrived at Half Pass Farm on November 25th...he is a 4 year old Hanoverian gelding by Gold Luck...a full brother to Ghulliver's Travels, in fact! Once he's back in shape I hope to show him 1st Level and possibly in the FEI classes for 5 year olds.

October 2007 News

Special Affect aka "Ronnie" arrived at Half Pass in October. He is the most wonderful schoolmaster type Dressage horse! I showed him at 4th Level at the Morven Park Autumn Horse Show in November.

Congratulations to Bob Askew on his purchase of Ghunslinger...2 year old Hanoverian gelding by Gold Luck. "Tex" will remain at Half Pass Farm for training and sale.

September 2007 News

Welcome Peabody! He is a 2 year old Hanoverian gelding by Palladium, and was purchased from the Maplewood Farm dispersal sale. A lovely addition to our herd, he will begin his training and also remain a stallion prospect.
